This is the person with the M35x-S161. I tried with the battery out and only the AC adapter, no change, starts for about 5 secs then fan shuts off black screen. Q Can you boot this up in DOS command disc and disgnos any problems that way?

JennAir model S161 downdraft oven with cast iron burner cartridges. Left side large burner will not heat, small burner works fine. Swapped burner cartridges side to side large burner works OK on right side. Ordered replacement wire/contacts for burner connector. Replaced brown wire/contact. Old contact showed pitting. Cleaned plug tabs on burner cartridge. Still no heating on large burner. Checked voltage on pins at connector. Brown and pink wire connectors both getting 117 volts. What is wrong?

I have a Toshiba Satelite M35X-S161 Laptop. It is about five years old. I have not used it very much. It has been sitting. I lost the power cord and purchased Rocketfish power cord and adapter which fits and the laptop power is on. I also purchased PNY 1GB DDR PC2700 Optima Memory and placed it in the receptacle. I did not replace baterry, which I am sure needs charging. What is the procedure to get the screen up? It seems to go on then stop. The startup light remains on.
