my frigidaire oven will not work i change the element and still have the problem?

Frigidaire PFEF375CS2 - oven totally dead following use of self-clean (there was a loud "pop" and a flash around the control panel on the first use after self-clean)

I have a frigidaire electric glass top oven. This morning, we turned on the oven and after 10 minutes, we heard a "pop", and our main circut breaker in the house switched off. When we turned the power back on in the house, our oven, clock and lights on on the unit no longer work (like theres a broken switch or something), yet the oven works. I found the glass fuss in the control panel and its not burnt. I located the sylvania FS-2 starter, but it lookes fine (i don't really know what it is, or what it would like loon if it were damaged). Any suggestions on problem/solution? Thanks

This is a slide in glass top range. One day my wife went to turn on the warmer burner and she heard a loud pop. Then the entire electronics went dead. So there is no display for the clock or to use the oven. However the range top burners still work. So there is power going to the range. A repair man came and he said that the circuit board is dead and needs replacing. Does this sound like a logical conclusion to come to since he did not even open any part of the range to check?Is it posibble that there is a fuse of some sort that could be blown that prevents power going to the circuit board? If so where can I find it?If the circuit board does need replacing can someone give me some detail instructions on how to remove the coverings? Also if there are any "gotchas" that I should look out for. Tony.
